A look behind my eyes

With all of the beautiful weather the first three days of my trip, I should not have been surprised when I woke up to a rainy gloomy day the last day of my trip. It was fitting though because that’s how I felt about having to leave the city.

With my humungous suitcase in tow (you never know what you’re going to need!), I checked out of the hotel and out into the downpour. Luckily the PATH station was right next to my hotel, but I was soaked nonetheless.

I had done everything on my list the first three days and had planned to just walk around some neighborhoods and check out what types of housing might be available, but in the rain… with my suitcase, that wasn’t really an option. So looking like a drowned rat, I grabbed something to eat and headed to the airport to grab the next flight home.

I had an amazing time in NYC and I can’t wait for the chance to go back. It is definitely the one place I have been where I think I could live and never get bored. You never know what the future holds, maybe one day soon you will see me at the subway with suitcase in hand and keys to an NYC apartment!

Oh, I forgot to tell you about this sweet old lady I met on the PATH train back to Jersey my first night. She was so sweet and wore the prettiest long pink coat and white & black scarf. She came up to me and asked me about my tattoo, then proceeded to tell me stories all the way to my stop in Newport. She said something that I think sums up NYC for me. She said she has been all over the world and NYC is like having the entire world in one city. If you get bored in Soho, you go to Chinatown, if you get bored there you go to Little Italy, if you get bored there you can still go to a hundred other places.
